What happened
HUD published remarks by Secretary Scott Turner and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon at HUD’s Trades Day on September 25, 2026, during the department’s 2026 Innovative Housing Showcase week on the National Mall, as HUD titled the upload.
Why it matters
Trades Day pairs the housing secretary with the education secretary on skilled-trades pathways — the workforce that builds the homes Turner’s department is charged with making affordable, and a recurring theme of Turner’s own public case for opportunity beyond a college degree.
