What happened

HUD published Secretary Scott Turner’s convening of tribal leaders at the department’s National Tribal Housing Summit on September 4, 2026, as the department titled the upload.

Why it matters

Tribal housing is a distinct statutory HUD mission — block-grant funding and self-determination for tribes and tribally designated housing entities — and the Secretary’s summit with tribal leaders is the department’s senior-level engagement on that mission.
