What happened
President Donald Trump addressed the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s 2026 Policy Conference in Washington, DC on June 26, 2026, introduced by the coalition’s Ralph Reed. “Thank you to all of the true American patriots of Faith and Freedom Coalition. You’ve been with me from the beginning,” the President said, crediting the coalition’s 2024 ground operation as he stated it: “You knocked on 97 million doors” — corrected on stage to 9.7 million — “You reached 18 million voters… You sent 28 million text messages and made 10 million phone calls to help us win a mandate like no other administration in modern history.” He recited the 2024 result as he states it: all seven swing states, the Electoral College 312 to 226, the popular vote, and 86 percent of counties.
He thanked Pastor Paula White, White House Faith Office director Jenny Korn, and UN Ambassador Mike Waltz, who was in the room, and turned to the anniversary a week out: “Just over one week from now, we will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence… today, I can proudly report that on the edge of our 250th year, America is back.” His signature claim of the speech: “I’m especially pleased to say that likewise, religion is back in our country, bigger and stronger than it has been in many, many years… to be a great nation, you have to have religion and you have to have God in your nation.”
The address ranged across the record as he presents it — factories and markets at record levels, the stock market’s effect on 401(k)s — and closed on the theme he returned to all week: “The biggest thing we have to do is we have to stop this horrible threat of cancer that’s permeating our country called communism.”
Why it matters
The Faith & Freedom conference is the administration’s annual accounting to its faith constituency, delivered this year as a two-part sequence with the Religious Liberty Commission report presentation at the White House the same day (paged separately in this collection). The coalition’s door operation is part of the midterm machinery this chronicle tracks into November 3, 2026, and Ambassador Waltz’s presence ties the speech to the foreign-policy record as well.
