What happened
CMS Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz briefed members of the media at the White House on June 2, 2026, on the administration’s drug-pricing program. He said U.S. drug prices run “about three times higher on average than the same drugs made in the same facilities… than they are charging patients overseas,” and that the administration had spent the prior year negotiating with the 17 largest pharmaceutical companies — “every single one of them agreed to a most favored nation drug pricing strategy.” He cited the Council of Economic Advisers’ estimate of the program’s benefit at “about $600 billion over the next 10 years.”
His announcement: “Today we are adding 160 more drugs to this site. Now, the site already has 700 or so or 600 or so drugs. So, it’s going to take it over 750 total.” The site, TrumpRx.gov, is a price-transparency tool, he said, letting patients check whether the price at their pharmacy is the best available: “Four out of five medications that are picked up by Americans… now have the opportunity to double check that the price they’re getting in that drugstore… is the best price out there.”
Why it matters
Oz runs CMS, and TrumpRx is the consumer-facing half of the most-favored-nation pricing program whose manufacturer agreements are tracked on the Health & MAHA hub. The 750-drug mark and the CEA savings estimate are the program’s stated scale as of June 2026, against which the later Medicaid expansion announcement paged in this collection builds.
