What happened

President Donald Trump held a healthcare affordability event at the White House on May 18, 2026, returning to the stage where, less than four months earlier, he had launched TrumpRx.gov. “Under the most favored nation agreements I negotiated, we now pay the lowest price paid for anybody in any country. We went from the highest to the lowest,” he said, stating that drug prices had been slashed “by differences of 400, 500, and even 600%” across categories including weight-loss drugs, fertility treatments, and insulin.

His status report, as he stated it: since the February launch, TrumpRx.gov “has already been visited more than 10 million times and has saved American consumers over $400 million already,” and the Council of Economic Advisors estimates the most-favored-nation policies “will save Americans over $500 billion” over ten years. The day’s announcement: “We’re increasing the number of drugs available on TrumpRx by nearly seven times, adding over 600 affordable generics to the website, working with industry partners” — generics that are “the same thing… the same dosage, the same effectiveness, and the same active ingredients” at a fraction of brand prices, in some cases below the out-of-pocket insurance cost. He thanked the partnering generic makers, including Cost Plus Drugs co-founder Mark Cuban.

Why it matters

TrumpRx is the delivery vehicle for the most-favored-nation drug-pricing program this chronicle tracks on the Health & MAHA hub, and the May 18 event is its first dated expansion: a counted catalog (600+ generics added), a usage figure, and a savings figure, each stated by the President and each checkable as the program publishes data.

Scoreboard watch

This is a candidate item for the weekly scoreboard: the TrumpRx expansion (600+ generics, ~7x catalog), the 10-million-visit and $400-million-saved figures, and the CEA’s $500 billion ten-year estimate — all as stated by the President.
