What happened
President Donald Trump welcomed NCAA collegiate national champions to the White House on April 21, 2026. “We’re joined by not one, not two, but seven collegiate championship winning teams from all across the country. Champions, every one of them,” he said. “To the winners here today, welcome to the White House, a very, very incredible place.”
Among the teams he introduced were the 2025 Division I men’s golf champions, the Oklahoma State Cowboys — “capturing multiple victories before securing their 12th national title” under head coach Alan Bratton, as the President stated it — and the 2025 NCAA women’s volleyball champions, the Texas A&M Aggies, who, he said, swept top-seeded Kentucky “to claim the program’s first ever national title,” with Kindle Stowers as “an offensive powerhouse” and Logan Lednicky delivering 11 kills against Kentucky.
Why it matters
The champions’ visit is the White House’s set-piece celebration of the college sports season in this chronicle — seven title teams honored in one ceremony — recorded on the Elections & Governance hub alongside the administration’s other ceremonial honors.
