What happened

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles joined The Mom View for its December 8, 2025 episode, recorded in Washington — a rare interview the hosts noted she does not often give. She walked through a chief of staff’s day as she runs it: a security briefing, a senior staff meeting, and an operations meeting before the President’s own day begins in mid-morning, then meetings and spontaneous conversations until the evening. The White House, she said, does not run hierarchically: “We really function as a group. We make group decisions,” and the President “puts people around a table and he listens to them all… it doesn’t matter what their station is.”

The forward look was the interview’s news. Executive orders, the conversation established, are not enough on their own: to be lasting, the administration’s actions have to be codified into law, and after the first of the year the White House would turn its sights to the midterms and to getting its program into statute, as the plan was stated on the program. Wiles, who ran the President’s 2024 campaign, gave the organizing doctrine behind that turn: “The person most likely to vote is a newly registered person, which is why we’ve put such emphasis on registering people to vote. That’s what we did.” The hosts closed by telling their audience the administration is counting on moms in the midterms — registering them and getting them out to vote — as their summary of what she had asked of them. She also spoke about her family and faith, her 11 years away from politics raising her daughters, and her advice to mothers, per the program’s description of the conversation.

Why it matters

Wiles is the campaign manager who became chief of staff, and this appearance is where she assigns the next campaign its ground game in public: codification first, then a midterm effort built on newly registered voters, with the organized moms’ network explicitly counted on. It is the bridge document between her governing record and the 2026 cycle this site’s Elections hub tracks.
