The tour takes its name from the administration’s stated education project — returning education authority to the states — which McMahon leads as Secretary.
Why it matters
The tour is the road version of McMahon’s central assignment: carrying the return-education-to-the-states agenda out of Washington to the state and local leaders the administration says should hold the authority her department is giving up.
