What happened
HHS published Secretary Kennedy’s statement on his autism press conference on April 30, 2025. In the statement carried in HHS’s description, Kennedy says: ‘President Trump has tasked me with identifying the root causes of the childhood chronic disease epidemic –including autism. At Wednesday’s press conference, I shared new data from the CDC Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Network survey. Autism prevalence in the U.S. has increased from 1 in 36 children to 1 in 31. We will find the root cause of this epidemic and Make America Healthy Again.’
