What happened
President Donald Trump delivered remarks at the Department of Justice on Mar. 14, 2025, carried on the White House channel. Attorney General Pam Bondi introduced him, pointing to a display representing 180 kilograms of fentanyl and stating that one kilo of fentanyl in pure form can kill half a million people, and she presented two Angel Moms and the Boston DEA Strike Team. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche and FBI Director Kash Patel were among the team she named on stage.
The President said the visit opened a proud new chapter, “turning the page on four long years of corruption, weaponization, and surrender to violent criminals,” and restoring fair, equal, and impartial justice under the constitutional rule of law, as he stated the department’s mission.
Why it matters
The Justice Department address is the President’s fullest statement of his second-term justice program delivered inside the department itself - the anti-weaponization pledge and the fentanyl enforcement priority stated to the prosecutors and agents charged with carrying them out.
