What happened
President Donald Trump held a joint press conference with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel at the White House on Feb. 4, 2025, carried on the White House channel (uploaded Feb. 5), following the bilateral meeting between the two leaders paged separately in this series. The press conference closed the first White House visit by Israel’s prime minister in the President’s second term, and the bilateral session earlier that day - recorded in this chronicle’s Feb. 4 meeting page - took questions on the hostage agreement, the war’s next steps, and Saudi normalization.
This page embeds the White House broadcast of record for the joint press conference. The President restated the Gaza proposals he put to reporters that week in fuller form aboard Air Force One on Feb. 9, 2025, in the Gulf of America Day flight paged in this series, where his words are quoted from that broadcast’s transcript.
Why it matters
The Feb. 4 press conference is the public close of the Netanyahu visit - the first allied-leader summit of the term - and the reference broadcast for the Gaza proposals the President repeated, on the record, five days later.
