Keith Sonderling Confirmed as Secretary of Labor

Senate vote: 47–41

Keith Sonderling was confirmed as Secretary of Labor on September 30, 2026 (47–41) and sworn in on October 2. He succeeded Lori Chavez-DeRemer, who resigned in April 2026 amid a departmental inspector-general investigation whose allegations she denied. Sonderling also serves as Acting Director of the Office of Government Ethics.
