Todd Blanche was confirmed as Attorney General on August 8, 2026 (50–49) and sworn in on August 10 — the closest confirmation vote of any member of the current team. He had run the Justice Department in an acting capacity since Pam Bondi’s firing on April 2, making this the day a four-month interim became a mission in its own right.
