David Venturella Becomes Acting Director of ICE

David Venturella became acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on June 1, 2026, succeeding Todd Lyons. The directorship itself remains unfilled by a Senate-confirmed appointee — ICE has had no confirmed director since the Obama era — and the President’s later pick for the job was withdrawn in September 2026. Venturella leads the agency’s enforcement mission in the acting role.
