Pam Bondi Fired as Attorney General; Todd Blanche Acting

Attorney General Pam Bondi was fired on April 2, 2026. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche stepped into the role in an acting capacity the same day — the start of a four-month acting tenure that ended with his own confirmation to the office in August (see the August 8, 2026 entry).
