Sergio Gor Confirmed as Ambassador to India, 51–47

Senate vote: 51–47

Sergio Gor was confirmed by the Senate as United States Ambassador to India on October 7, 2025, in an en bloc confirmation vote of 51–47 that carried 107 of the President’s nominees at once. President Trump had announced the nomination in August 2025, naming Gor — then the Director of Presidential Personnel — to serve also as Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

The mission that started here is the administration’s India relationship: Gor took up the post in New Delhi in January 2026 (in post January 12, per this chronicle’s research record), holding both the ambassadorship and the regional envoy portfolio. His full profile lives on his team page.
