Donald Trump Is Sworn In as the 47th President

The second Trump administration begins. Donald J. Trump took the oath of office at the U.S. Capitol on January 20, 2025, becoming the 47th President of the United States — and only the second president in American history to return to the office for a non-consecutive term. JD Vance was sworn in as Vice President the same day.

Everything on this site follows from this date: the nominations sent to the Senate in the weeks after, the confirmations that seated the cabinet, the executive actions signed from the first evening, and the missions each member of the team was approved to carry out. The chronicle runs from here.
