What happened
ONDCP Director Sara Carter joined The Mike Gallagher Show for an interview the ONDCP posted on October 13, 2026. According to the office, Carter — the nation’s drug czar — discussed “the Trump administration’s aggressive fight against illicit drugs, cartels, and the fentanyl crisis,” as the ONDCP described the conversation. The appearance is part of the sustained media round Carter has run through the autumn of 2026 carrying the administration’s drug case to radio and television audiences; the office posted a short excerpt of the same interview separately the same day.
Why it matters
Carter’s office has made the airwaves a working part of the drug strategy — prevention messaging and deterrence aimed at the demand side run through appearances like this one, and the claims she repeats across them form the public record of the strategy’s promises.
