What happened
The FBI published this video of Deputy Director Christopher Raia on September 11, 2026, the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. In it, Raia addresses how the FBI adapts to new terror threats. The Bureau’s own description frames the video around the anniversary: much has changed in the 25 years since 9/11, the FBI says, but its commitment to uphold its mission and protect the people of the United States has never wavered.
Why it matters
Raia is the FBI’s sole deputy director under Director Kash Patel — the continuity seat in a Bureau leadership structure that churned through most of 2026. A 9/11-anniversary statement on the terror threat is the deputy’s institutional voice on the Bureau’s founding modern mission, delivered on the record by the official channel.
