What happened
FBI Co-Deputy Director Christopher Raia sat down with retired FBI Supervisory Special Agent Jason Pack for a wide-ranging conversation about the changes taking place inside the FBI, emerging threats, and the future of the Bureau, according to Media Rep Global Strategies, whose upload of the interview is embedded above. The interview’s stated subjects are artificial intelligence, foreign influence, and a changing Bureau.
Why it matters
Long-form interviews are nearly the whole of Raia’s personal public record: the deputy who runs the Bureau day-to-day under Patel rarely holds press conferences of his own, so a 21-minute on-record conversation about the Bureau’s direction is a primary source for how its second-in-command describes the job.
