What happened
CMS published the full Health Tech Ecosystem First Wave Launch event of April 9, 2026 (uploaded May 4, 2026). According to CMS, the event welcomed the Health Tech Ecosystem pledge companies that met the March 31, 2026 Minimum Viable Product (MVP) deadline, demonstrating their commitment to transforming health care through innovation. The CMS chapter list for the recording runs: introduction; Amy Gleason; Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.; Administrator Mehmet Oz; and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, followed by company presentations from dozens of pledge companies and health systems, including Oracle, Humana, CVS Health, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Samsung, Microsoft Copilot, Athena Health, eClinicalWorks, Meditech, DaVita, and the Cleveland Clinic.
Why it matters
The launch is the delivery milestone of the health-tech pledge process that began with the June 2025 RFI question session Oz also joined: companies that pledged interoperability commitments were required to show a minimum viable product by March 31, 2026, and this event is CMS’s public accounting of the first wave that met it — with the HHS Secretary, the CMS Administrator, and the FDA Commissioner all on the same program.
Scoreboard watch
Candidate item: the March 31, 2026 MVP deadline and the first-wave company list in the CMS chapter record are dated, checkable facts — follow-through is measurable in whether the named companies’ pledged data-sharing features reach patients and providers.
