What happened
On March 19, 2026, Meridian International Center convened a fireside chat featuring National Cyber Director Sean Cairncross as part of its Insights@Meridian series, carried in full on Meridian’s channel. The conversation was moderated by Machalagh Carr, founder and CEO of Quell Strategies, and opened with remarks from AWS’s Jordana Siegel and Kellee Wicker. According to Meridian, President Trump’s newly released Cyber Strategy for America aims to define how the federal government will partner with the private sector and allies abroad, as the United States advances what Meridian calls a more coordinated and forward-looking approach to cybersecurity.
Why it matters
At fifty minutes, this is the longest single Cairncross appearance of the strategy rollout — the diplomatic-corps version of the pitch, delivered to Meridian’s international audience, pairing the private-sector partnership at home with the allied partnership abroad that his Munich fireside had opened the month before.
