What happened
Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt opened the March 10, 2026, briefing with the week’s schedule: the President’s Ohio and Kentucky economic trip the next day, the Women’s History Month event Thursday, and executive-order signings Friday. She then gave the White House’s day-10 account of Operation Epic Fury, as she stated it: “More than 5,000 enemy targets have been struck so far”; Iran’s ballistic missile attacks “down more than 90%” and drone attacks “down by approximately 85%”; “more than 50 Iranian naval vessels, including a major drone carrier ship” destroyed, with the Iranian navy “assessed as combat ineffective”; and B-2 bombers dropping “dozens of 2,000 pound penetrator bombs on deeply buried missile sites.” On energy, she listed political risk insurance for Gulf tankers, a temporary Treasury waiver of certain oil-related sanctions, and the offer of Navy escorts, and said the recent gas-price increase was temporary.
The second half was the Save America Act, which she laid out as “five simple requirements”: voter ID; proof of citizenship to register; abolition of universal mail-in ballots with exceptions for illness, disability, military and travel; a permanent ban on men in women’s sports; and a ban on transgender surgery for children. In questions, she rejected the claim that the act would burden married women voters — “there is zero validity to these claims” — saying already-registered voters are unaffected and name changes follow existing state processes.
Why it matters
This briefing is the administration’s canonical day-10 statement of the war — the target, missile, drone and naval tallies that the President’s own gaggles then echo — paired with the fullest single laying-out of the Save America Act’s five provisions in this record. It is recorded on the Foreign Policy & Defense hub.
