What happened

President Donald Trump stopped at a local restaurant in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 27, 2026, during his energy trip to the port city. The White House broadcast shows the President working the room — “How are the burgers? Pretty good?” — asking diners whether they liked the State of the Union, and ordering for the house: “Hamburgers for all,” he announced, adding that he would get some food for Air Force One as well.

He thanked the crowd for Texas’s support — “Corpus Christi likes me and Texas likes me… We won Texas by more votes than anybody,” as he put it — met the owner, and left to chants of “USA.” The visit was informal; no formal remarks were delivered.

Why it matters

The restaurant stop is the retail-politics half of the President’s February 27 Texas day, paired with the formal energy remarks at the Port of Corpus Christi paged from the same day. It is recorded on the Economy, Tariffs & Trade hub.
