What happened

Vice President JD Vance delivered remarks at Pointe Precision, a precision manufacturing facility in Plover, Wisconsin, on February 26, 2026, introduced by Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler, who framed the visit as Main Street’s comeback — the working-family tax cuts, no tax on tips, overtime, or Social Security, and an end to the trade imbalance that sent jobs overseas, as she stated the record.

Vance praised the plant — 165 Wisconsin employees “making great American products at a good wage,” as he stated it — and built the speech around the State of the Union two days earlier and the November midterms. His affordability figures, as he stated them: inflation at 2.4 percent, “the lowest in five years and it’s coming even lower,” against what he called the prior administration’s 40-year high; the average American $1,700 up in take-home pay in one year, against a $3,000 loss under his predecessor. “Hearing the Democrats talk about affordability,” he said, “is like hearing an arsonist complain about fire.”

He then turned to the fraud brief he had been given in the State of the Union: the press conference he had held the day before with CMS Administrator Dr. Oz (paged separately from February 25), the Minnesota autism-services fraud example he retold here, and the insider-trading question — “why don’t we stop allowing Congressmen and Congresswomen to get rich off of insider trading?” Representative Derrick Van Orden and the President’s endorsed candidate for Wisconsin governor, Tom Tiffany, were among those he recognized from the stage.

Why it matters

The Plover remarks are the Vice President’s first road speech carrying the State of the Union’s two domestic assignments — the affordability record and the war on fraud he was named to lead — into a midterm battleground, at a working factory rather than a rally hall. It is recorded on the Economy, Tariffs & Trade hub.

Scoreboard watch

The Vice President’s figures as stated at Plover — inflation at 2.4 percent and the $1,700 take-home-pay gain — and his fraud and insider-trading calls are recorded here as candidate items for the weekly scoreboard. The scoreboard entry itself remains review-gated.
