What happened

President Donald Trump gaggled with the press aboard Air Force One en route to Palm Beach, Florida on February 6, 2026. He opened on the two negotiations: “We had very, very good talks today having to do with Russia, Ukraine — could something could be happening. We likewise had very good talks on Iran. Iran looks like it wants to make a deal very badly… Last time they decided maybe not to do it, but I think they probably feel differently.” A “big armada,” he said, was heading toward the region.

His domestic account, as he stated it: the Dow had broken 50,000 — “we did it in the first year, so we’re about three years ahead of schedule”; prices, energy, gasoline, and groceries were down; the border had gone nine months with zero people coming in illegally; and crime was at its lowest in 125 years, since 1900. Asked about a social-media post taken down earlier that day, he said a staffer had sent it, that he had looked only at the first part — “it was about voter fraud in someplace Georgia” — and that he had not seen the picture at its end that people objected to. Asked about reports that the Vice President was booed at an opening ceremony abroad, he said it was surprising because “people like him… he doesn’t get booed in this country,” and he declined to pick a Super Bowl winner between “two great teams.”

Why it matters

The gaggle is the President’s own status report on the two live negotiations — Russia-Ukraine and Iran — delivered the same day as his White House departure remarks, with the Dow milestone folded into both. It is recorded on the Foreign Policy & Defense hub.

Scoreboard watch

The President’s statements as recorded here — good talks on both negotiations, an armada en route, nine months of zero illegal entries, and crime at a 125-year low — are candidate items for the weekly scoreboard. The scoreboard entry itself remains review-gated.
