What happened

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth spoke during a nationwide Arsenal of Freedom tour stop in Cape Canaveral, Florida, on February 2, 2026, in a live session published by the Department of War. The department’s description identifies the stop as Cape Canaveral; the Bath, Maine stop eight days later is paged separately on this site.

Why it matters

The Arsenal of Freedom tour is the Secretary’s industrial-base roadshow: the department’s procurement message delivered at the sites that build and launch for it, with the Cape Canaveral stop bringing that message to Florida’s space coast.
