What happened
President Donald Trump attended the dedication ceremony for President Donald J. Trump Boulevard in Palm Beach, Florida, on January 16, 2026. State Representative Meg Weinberger, who sponsored the legislation renaming Southern Boulevard, introduced him: “President Donald J. Trump Boulevard now stands as a permanent reminder for courage, leadership, and unapologetic patriotism.” She recounted that the road-naming language began as her bill, rolled into the state’s road-naming bill, and then required approvals from the municipalities along the route.
“I’m tremendously honored that the main boulevard from Palm Beach International Airport to the beautiful Mar-a-Lago is being renamed in my honor,” the President said. “I love the people of Florida. I love the entire Palm Beach area. I’ve been here for a long time, and I want to thank you all for being here. I’ll remember this amazing gesture for the rest of my life.”
Why it matters
The boulevard is the road between the airport and Mar-a-Lago — the most-traveled presidential route in Florida — and the dedication is a fixed point in the record of the President’s home-county standing during his second term, kept here as the full ceremony rather than the White House’s short clip of it.
