What happened
President Donald Trump took calls from children through the NORAD Tracks Santa program on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025, in Palm Beach, Florida, with the First Lady taking calls separately on her own line. A NORAD team member briefed each call in advance with the child’s first name, age, and hometown, along with Santa’s current location.
The President wished a young Oklahoma caller well on a hoped-for dollhouse — “I think Santa’s going to bring you the most beautiful dollhouse you’ve ever seen” — and fielded a logistics question from Anna, age eight, of Salisbury, North Carolina: whether Santa gets mad if no cookies are left out. “I think he won’t get mad, but I think he’ll be very disappointed,” the President said. “Santa’s — he tends to be a little bit on the cherubic side… I think Santa would like some cookies.”
Why it matters
The NORAD Santa calls are the presidency’s Christmas Eve ritual with the nation’s children, run through the North American Aerospace Defense Command’s Santa-tracking operation. This chronicle files the 2025 edition here on the Elections & Governance hub as the ceremonial record of the day, with the First Lady working a parallel line of calls.
