What happened
President Donald Trump took questions from reporters aboard Air Force One on December 9, 2025. Asked about the Texas primary, he called the Democratic contender “a low IQ person” and “a terrible representative,” adding: “I can’t imagine she wins. Maybe she’ll get the Democrat nomination, but I think it’s a gift to Republicans,” as he put it.
On the Federal Reserve chair search, he said the administration would be “looking at a couple of different people, but I have a pretty good idea who I want.” On the Cassidy–Crapo bill to create health savings accounts in place of Obamacare subsidies, he said: “I like the concept. I don’t want to give the insurance companies any money,” and: “I love the idea of money going directly to the people, not to the insurance companies… It could be in the health savings account.” Asked whether he would consider ending the tax on gambling winnings alongside no tax on tips, overtime, and Social Security, he said he would have to think about it.
Why it matters
In under three minutes the gaggle touches three live files: the President’s read on a Texas primary, his Fed chair search nearing a decision in his own telling, and his endorsement in principle of routing health dollars to individuals through savings accounts rather than to insurers. This chronicle files it on the Elections & Governance hub with every characterization attributed to the President.
