What happened

President Donald Trump delivered remarks on the economy in Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, on December 9, 2025, opening his affordability tour in a rally setting. “I’m thrilled to be back in this incredible commonwealth with so many proud, hard-working American patriots,” he told the crowd, noting supporters who had waited outside in freezing weather since the early morning.

He recited the 2024 result as he stated it — all seven swing states, the Electoral College “312 to 226,” the popular vote, and “86 percent of all counties in America, 2,700 to 525” — and then turned to the Pennsylvania record ten months in: “Since my inauguration, we’ve created nearly 60,000 new Pennsylvania jobs, including 4,000 Pennsylvania manufacturing jobs that the Democrats gave up on,” and “more than 40,000 Pennsylvanians have been lifted off of food stamps, 40,000,” as he stated the figures. Senator Dave McCormick was in attendance and was recognized from the stage.

Why it matters

This is the opening address of the President’s affordability push in the commonwealth he carried three times: the inherited-economy argument, the Pennsylvania jobs figures, and the promise that he “will not rest until this Commonwealth is wealthier and stronger than ever before.” This chronicle files it on the Economy, Tariffs & Trade hub with every figure attributed to the President as stated.
