What happened

President Donald Trump spoke with reporters upon departure in Palm Beach, Florida, on November 16, 2025. On prices, he said grocery prices were “coming down very substantially,” cited Walmart and other companies for a Thanksgiving meal costing about 25 percent less than under the previous administration, as he stated the figure, and said further price reductions were worked on over the weekend.

On Venezuela, the President said the designation of a cartel associated with Nicolás Maduro “allows us to do that, but we haven’t said we’re going to do that,” regarding targeting assets or infrastructure, and added: “Venezuela would like to talk… I would talk. On Russia, he said legislation sanctioning countries that do business with Russia was “okay with me” and that Iran might be added, as he said he had suggested. He also said the mayor of New York would like to meet and that “we’ll work something out” — the meeting that took place on November 21, 2025.
