What happened

President Donald Trump spoke with reporters aboard Air Force One on October 13, 2025, on the way home from Israel and Egypt. “It’s a long day, right? And we did a couple of big ones. That first one was getting great reviews,” he said of the Knesset address. “I think it’s a very important day since nobody thought this was possible.”

Asked what it told him that his reception in Israel seemed stronger than in New York City, he pushed back — “I think I get a great reception in New York City” — citing his Bronx rally crowd of “30, 31,000 people” during the campaign, before conceding the day’s reception “was on another level.” He credited the coverage as he saw it: “the press has been very respectful for change. Doesn’t happen often.”

Why it matters

The gaggle is the President’s own first debrief of the peace day, recorded the same night — his assessment of the Knesset reception and of the deal’s reception across the region. It is recorded on the Foreign Policy & Defense hub with the day’s other pages.
