What happened
Speaking without a working teleprompter — “whoever’s operating this teleprompter is in big trouble,” he joked — President Trump told the General Assembly that six years after his last address, “just eight months into my administration, we are the hottest country anywhere in the world,” calling this “indeed the golden age of America.” He said inflation had been defeated, energy, gasoline, and grocery prices were down, and the stock market had hit record highs, and contrasted less than $1 trillion of new investment under his predecessor with $17 trillion in commitments secured in his eight months, as he stated them.
On foreign policy, the President said he had “ended seven unendable wars” and noted the United Nations had not offered to help finalize any of the deals. He said the United States had “successfully repelled a colossal invasion” at its southern border and attacked the border policies of the previous administration.
Why it matters
The 2025 UNGA address is the administration’s fullest single statement of its first-year record to a world audience — the investment, price, border, and seven-wars claims made here are recurring reference points that this site’s scoreboard tracks claim by claim.
Scoreboard watch
This is a candidate item for the weekly scoreboard: the President’s September 23, 2025 UNGA claims — $17 trillion in investment commitments and seven wars ended, each as stated by the President — to be checked against the tracked record.
