What happened

CMS published a “Stay Healthy with Dr. Oz” video on August 20, 2025, in which Administrator Mehmet Oz demonstrates chair stands. In CMS’s description, staying on top of blood pressure is one of the best ways to stay healthy for years to come, and exercises like chair stands, where the body is held still while muscles work, can be effective at helping lower blood pressure.

Why it matters

The “Stay Healthy” series is Oz’s preventive-care pitch in his own on-camera style — the television doctor’s format carried into the administrator’s office — and CMS presents these short installments as part of how the agency under Oz sells prevention and everyday movement to the Medicare public.
