What happened

President Donald Trump participated in the grand opening ceremony of the Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen, Scotland, on July 29, 2025, carried on the White House channel. The ceremony program noted the course would host back-to-back tour events — a Legends Tour and a DP World Tour stop on consecutive weekends, described on stage as a first for a single course.

Before the ribbon cutting, the President said: “may God bless everyone, everyone here, and everyone everywhere. We have a world that’s got some conflict, but we’ve ironed out a lot of it. We’re going to have a great and peaceful world, and on a much smaller scale, this will be a tremendously successful place, and a place where people can come and enjoy life.” He then cut the ribbon and, introduced as the 45th and 47th President, hit the ceremonial opening tee shot, with Eric Trump following. Asked by the press about a next meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, he answered: “We’re working together. We’re going to try and get things straightened out for the world.”

Why it matters

The Aberdeen opening was the ceremonial capstone of the President’s Scotland trip — a family business property opened on camera in the middle of a working visit that also carried the EU and UK meetings paged alongside this one.
