What happened
Senior White House officials Taylor Budowich, Stephen Miller, Russell Vought, and James Braid discussed the One, Big, Beautiful Bill in a White House program published June 6, 2025. Miller traced the bill to the campaign: “In every one of those campaign rallies, he made a series of very specific promises… No tax on tips. No tax on Social Security. No tax on overtime… Building the golden dome… Passing comprehensive border security and immigration enforcement legislation… Each and every one of those promises is codified in this legislation. It is literally as though you took a campaign rally speech and turned it into a bill,” as Miller stated the case, calling it “the most working-class bill that has ever been proposed” and “the MAGA agenda in legislative form,” as he characterized it.
Vought addressed inflation: the bill, he said, furthers the President’s program of deregulation, American energy, and pulling back the prior administration’s spending, with “historic levels of mandatory spending reforms,” as he stated them, arguing the trajectory was already “the lowest inflation in four years,” as he stated the figure.
Why it matters
This program is the White House staff’s own legislative brief for the bill at the Senate stage: the promises-kept theory stated by Miller and the inflation argument stated by the OMB Director, on the record in their own words.

This discussion is a scoreboard reference point: the officials’ June 6, 2025 claims for the bill — the codified campaign promises as listed by Miller and the inflation trajectory as stated by Vought — to be checked against the enacted text and the price data.
