What happened

President Donald Trump delivered remarks at the U.S. Steel Mon Valley Works Irvin Plant in Pennsylvania on May 30, 2025, carried in full on the White House channel, to celebrate the company’s partnership agreement. “We’re here today to celebrate a blockbuster agreement that will ensure the storied American company stays — an American company, you’re going to stay an American company. You know that, right? But we’re going to have a great partner,” he said, confirming the company “will keep its headquarters in the great city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where it belongs” and declaring: “The best and strongest steel on Earth will forever be made in America and made in Pennsylvania,” as he stated the terms.
