What happened

President Donald Trump spoke with the traveling press aboard Air Force One on May 14, 2025, after departing Saudi Arabia, in a gaggle carried on the White House channel.

Reporters pressed him on what had not been discussed in Riyadh. Asked whether the PGA Tour or LIV Golf came up with the Crown Prince, the President said: “No. Do you mean the LIV? No. No it didn’t. Didn’t discuss that.” Asked whether the extradition of a Saudi intelligence agent sought by 9/11 families came up, he said: “No. I know all about it. But it didn’t come up.” He was also asked about Israel not being a stop on the trip, as the gaggle ranged across the visit’s agenda.

Why it matters

A gaggle notable for its on-record negatives: the President stating plainly which sensitive subjects — the golf merger and the 9/11 extradition question — were not part of his Saudi conversations, recorded here as he stated them.
